Sparkly baby shower

Here is the baby shower scrap page I said I would post. Just got around to it. My daughters theme for her room is green and pink and butterflies. So this is what we did for my baby shower. I just happened to find some paper that matched the theme perfectly. I used some new techniques that I've recently learned, I learn so many things weekly it's hard to use them all and I want to use items I've already purchased without buying new things everytime, though it is fun.

I also made some Amish Friedship bread this week using a start a friend brought by, it took 10 days to make and it was sure worth it, both loaves were gone before I could take a picture but I kept a starter and I'll make more. If you are interested you can do this without a starter from a friend  just google Amish Friendship bread starter, you have to use yeast which I've never been successful with but you'll probably have better luck, it sure is worth the hassle the bread is very yummy.Photobucket

love this

Saw this on the Unity Stamp blog and fell in love with it's truth. Being new to all of this and full of self doubt I need to remember this.

Passing the time

Right now I'm sitting under the dryer in the salon waiting for my highlights to cure. I'm trying out blogging from my phone. So far so good. I always feel lucky when I get to get my hair done, I feel so much better afterwards, probably because I wait too long in between trips.
I'm still busy working on the invitations for the baby shower. I'm just about done. I've gotten alot more done than I expected in a short time. There were 9 extra people added after I bought the supplies, so I'm improvising and 6 people will get cards that are a little different. But that's ok because I was told that I could buy invitations for the extras so this is a good compromise.
I've finished my baby shower scrapbook page but need to take a pic just haven't had time to really do that and blog.
Well I'm almost done under this heater so until next time.

So excited!

I'm so excited, I didn't win the Bic Mark-it holiday card contest but.... I did get a 36 pack of ultra fine markers for participating! I just received them yesterday. I can't wait to use them. I've decided on the design for the baby shower invitations so now I need to get started on making those. There are a lot of little details but it adds to overall look. Besides that I haven't been doing any baking or crafting. I've been focusing on working out and cleaning. Now that I've decided on the invitations though I'll start working on those more. That's it for now. Photobucket

Happy New Year!

Well today is the day, the day to start your New Year's Resolutions. I have a lot this year. My top resolution is to get back into church, it's been 11 years since I attended church on a regular basis. I was very active in church in middle school and high school, I was very involved with the youth group. I come from the bible belt and if you don't go to church your weird, the church I attended had 10,000 members and 1,000 youth and the surrounding churches had the same. Then I moved to an area where a very small majority of people go to church or even believe in God for that matter. I was 18 and I got pregnant. The last time I attended I was showing and I got a lot of dirty looks because I looked so young, even though I was legally able to have a child. So I kind of just gave up on church. But little did I know at that the time that it would be 11 years until I wanted to go again. That was just the wrong church for me. Now it's time to start again, I'm ready and my husband and I want our children to grow up in church with good influences around them. And now that we live back where my husband grew up we are going to start attending his old church.

My other resolutions are continuing to up my running distance/time, start weight training again, create an "eat clean" lifestyle that my husband and I can live with, continue crafting, start doing craft challenges and hopefully start selling my crafts. I have high expectations this year. This will be the first full year that I'm not working, well outside of the house anyways. I'm super excited and blessed to be able to be a stay at home mom.

On another note here is a picture of another card that I created for my Christmas gifts. This was one of my faves.

Happy New Year and good luck with all of your resolutions!
