Grandparents really are grand

OK, so it took me so long to actually get around to posting what I made for the in-laws last year for Christmas, but it's that time of year again so I thought it would be a good time to finally post it. So far this year I've made nothing and probably won't. Maybe some cookies or something, but that's it. Free time is still not something I get alot of these days and it's a miracle that I'm typing this right now. But as I learned recently at a Mom 2 Mom meeting you have to respect the season that you are in and my season right now just doesn't allow for alot of me time.

I have the best in-laws in the world, literally. They treat me as if I were their daughter and are the sweetest people I know. I love them dearly. I feel horrible that I didn't get around to making them something this year not even the grandkids picture calendar that we did last year and vowed to do yearly. But hopefully next year we can be more ahead of schedule.

So with that said here's what I made. They leave it up year round and it holds the grandkids pictures. I saw this somewhere online and just had to make one for them.

I picked up a pre-cut board from Craft Warehouse, painted it and stained the edges. The lettering is vinyl cut with my Cricut. I decorated some clothes pins I had on hand with various scrapbook paper, ribbon and buttons. It was a super simple project as most are that I do. It's great  to see it hanging up in the kitchen everytime I go over.

If I'm not on again before Christmas, I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!

Gendercide in America

This is an unusual post for me with serious topics and serious questions. But this is something I cannot ignore.

Did you know that right here in America people are choosing to abort their baby if the gender is undesirable? And that Planned Parenthood is supportive no matter why the individual decides to abort their baby?

Here is a question and really think about this....when is it ever okay to kill an innocent child? Just somethings to think about. If you want to help save our girls, let alone an innocent human life sign this petition.
These babies have no voice, will you be theirs?

Uplifted stool

I finally was able to get some crafting done!!We've had this stool forever that my MIL picked up at Salvation Army for me to re-do. Now that Hannah is getting closer to being potty trained and will need a way to wash her hands, I figured now was the time to get on it. It was very simple no sanding involved, gotta love primer.

I just primed with spray paint primer.

Then added 2 or 3 coats of yellow spray paint until it looked good.

I then cut some scrapbook paper to fit the step area and using Mod Podge attached the paper to the steps. Once this was dry I put on another coat of Mod Podge to help seal it. Once this was dry I spray painted with a clear sealer to help keep water out and voila! A super cute stool.

Hannah loves it so much, today she even snuck into the bathroom to play in the sink.

new name - Real Crafty Mama is now Everyday for Them

Well I finally did it. Ever since I started my Blog I haven't been so thrilled with the name. It wasn't even close to my first choice but I could never figure out what to call it until a few minutes ago. This new name will lend itself more to general blogging, not just about crafts. I still plan on blogging about the same stuff but don't want to feel limited by a name. So hopefully everyone will still follow along. Until next time, peace.

He's here!

Hi Everybody,

I know it's been forever since I've last blogged but it has been for a good reason. My newest son Daniel Joseph is here! He arrived on April 27 and was six weeks early. He weighed 4 lbs 9 oz. and was 17 inches long. He had no complications other than he was six weeks early and little. He stayed 9 days in the NICU just to get his weight up and fight off some Jaundice.

He's two months old now and time is flying by. But as you can see I don't have much time for blogging or crafting for that matter. I do really want to get back to doing somethings but right now it's just too much. Hopefully in the fall I can start getting back to my hobbies. But in the meantime I'm enjoying being a mother to my three babies even though one of them is 12 now!

Here are some pictures of the little guy. He has gained weight like crazy since he's been home and is doing great.

Life update

Hi ya'll!

I wanted to pop in and give an update as to what's been going on lately. First off I'm feeling much better. I've been getting some projects done and when I get pictures I'll post them.

I know now why I was feeling so sick, we are having a boy! We're very excited. Still working on a name, boys names are tough.

But on top of being pregnant, my husband threw out his back at work. A week after it happened we found out it was a pertruding disc. So we've tried physical therapy for a month now and his pain has only increased so today we met with the neurosurgeon again and scheduled the surgery for this coming Tuesday. We're waiting for the workers comp case to be approved but we can't put the surgery off anymore. We could use all of your prayers right now, for the approval of the claim and the surgery and recovery. He will be at home for a month and then another month of light duty work and PT.

So that's what has been going on. I will update again soon. Take care.
