I'm going to start something new on my blog where I have a different focus everyday of the week, Sunday through Friday. I probably won't get to it everyday of the week but I will try my best. As you can see Mondays are Homemaking Mondays. Mondays will focus on things that I do around the house to make it more comfortable, decorative and more of the home that I want to raise my family in.
{ Ikea lamp change up}
Today I start with a very simple project that did. We recently bought some lamps from Ikea that we thought would add some nice mood lighting. For $14.99 for a set of a large & small size you couldn't go wrong. We are using the two large sized in the bedroom for reading and they are working great and also go well with our more modern furniture. But once we got the smaller versions plugged in, in the living room, we discovered that even with the frosted glass or plastic (I'm still not sure) that the light was still pretty harsh for the mood. They were also more modern looking than I had intended for the living room. So I came up with the idea to soften the look with scrapbook paper. First I was going to secure it on the outside of the lamp but once I started messing around with a couple of paper options I realized that it would just sit in the lamp perfectly and the paper looked really good behind the frosted glass (we'll call it). The paper really helped to soften the light and I've tested them for a week and nothing is getting hot to burn the paper. Today I finished it up by trimming the paper down the fit the height of the lamp. I think it works really well. I'm pretty happy that I thought of it.

Now on another subject. I really want to work on making this blog something that people will enjoy reading and following. I'm participating in the "Making the world cuter" follow along. Hopefully this will bring me some new friends!
